From Christmas Decoration to Valentine Banner

As I was taking down our Christmas decorations last week, I had a brilliant idea to use the new Hearts Framelits to change one of them into a Valentine decoration!

My pictures are not the best, but hopefully they'll inspire you to make some of your own Valentine decorations.

Not So Spooky Halloween Crafts

I've been sharing a lot of Christmas projects lately, so I thought we should switch to Halloween for a few days since it's coming up quick.  I am not a huge fan of Halloween nor do I make many Halloween projects, but I got together with a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators last week and they shared these fun Halloween crafts...

This yummy Jack-o'-Lantern Bowl was made by Lyssa Zwolanek using the Spooky Expressions Black Decor Elements (#117568).

This card by Wanda says spooky, but it's really not. I LOVE the spider web background that was made using the Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die (#120889) and the Big Shot. 

 

I don't know why I didn't think to take a picture of the inside of this "purse" made by Julie Lamont because when you open it up it is SWEET!!  Literally sweet.  It has a mini pack of M&Ms in it.  Who wouldn't love that? 

If you're a Big Shot fan, you might recognize that Julie used the Top Note die (#113463) for the main part of the purse and the Frame, Oval Scallop die (#114521) for the handle.

Decorate your Car with Decor Elements!

Scrapbook Page Display

Last weekend we made this cool scrapbook page display for the wall in my daughter's room. She made all of the pages herself.

We had an old curtain rod that we used to hang the pages from, and then we simply threaded ribbon through the holes of clear page protectors.  You can easily change out the pages by slipping them in and out the sides.

Next you'll need ribbon.  Any 1/2" ribbon is perfect for holding the pages in place.  Don't try 1/4" ribbon, it's too thin and the pages will slide right down... trust me, I tried it.  The Polka-Dot ribbon that I used is only available through today, so order it quickly.

Quilting with the Big Shot

The Big Shot makes cutting fabric a breeze!  Depending on the thickness of your fabric, you can cut up to 8 layers at a time.

• 5-Point 3D Star Bigz die
• Scallop Circle #2 Bigz die
• Background fabric (two 10" x 10" squares)
• 10" x 10" square 100% cotton batting
• Ric-rac (6")
• Sewing machine and thread

Make your own Vinyl Shapes

I used the Big Shot, Snowflake Sizzlet dies and White Décor Elements Vinyl Sheets to decorate a plain blue tin to use as a gift basket for a Christmas present... but I'm not saying for who!

Photo Wreath

I shared in a previous post the photo ornaments that I made for the grandparents this year.  For my parents, I made photo ornaments of all of their children/in-laws and grandchildren and used them to decorate a wreath.

Make a Designer Picture Frame

Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Papers make it so easy to make beautiful gifts.  I quickly decorated a $1 wood frame from a craft store with designer series paper to make this frame as a birthday gift for my cousin.

All you need to do is cut your paper to a little bit larger than the frame.  Completely cover the front of the frame with glue stick, add the paper and smooth with your hands.  After it has dried, use a hobby blade to cut the extra paper from the middle of the frame.  Use a sanding block to remove the extra paper from around the inside and outside edges of the frame and create smooth edges.  So easy!
